Allure of the Seas-Set’s Sail for Charity

Here’s your shot to raise money for Haiti while being one of the first to spend a night on the Allure of the Seas.

boat.jpgThe Allure of the Seas made it’s grand entrance in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. yesterday, delighting the first Americans to set eyes on what is now the world’s largest cruise ship.

Tomorrow, its little sister, Oasis of the Seas, who is only 2 inches shorter and one year older, will arrive, and together the two gigantic ships will finally meet and float side by side.

Costing a billion dollars to build, the Allure of the Seas contains 3-D movie theaters, 12,000 plants in a faux Central Park, a zip line, two-levels of shopping, 17 bars, 20 restaurants, the Broadway show Chicago and a Starbucks (naturally).  It has more going on than most American cities.

Visitors who want to check out the ship before she starts cruising and donate to a great cause can hit the high seas with her on Nov. 28 when  Royal Caribbean will be taking folks out for a cruise  to raise money for United Way of Broward County, United Way of Miami-Dade and Royal Caribbean’s Haiti Fund. Tickets cost between $1,200 and $125,000. The following day will be the official ship naming ceremony.
